Things That Are Allowed In The Indian Subcontinent,But Could Land You Up In Trouble Abroad!

Every country has its own set of rules and regulations which are set for people to follow.There are a set of things that are fine in a particular country,but could land u up in jail abroad.




Getting to know different cultures,religions,there standards of living are interesting to study and experience about.There are a set of rules that should be followed by the people or tourists that would avoid them to get arrested.

Here are the set of rules that you shouldn’t risk doing it in countries other than India

  • Crossing the road at your own will:

This rule is followed very seriously in the streets of America and Middle Eastern countries,be it driving or crossing via the write path.People have been fined and arrested for not following these basic rules.This is however not followed in the continent of India.So be sure to not risk it in other countries.

  • Use of abusive language:




Use of abusive language is common in India,but it could land you in jail if followed in the streets of Australia.Australian’s are very strict about use of abusive language and it could land you up with hefty fines and jail term.

  • Wearing short dresses and cloths:

Wearing short dresses are banned in certain Muslim countries like Saudi Arabia,Iran and Iraq.Women are supposed to cover there entire body and wear a scarf to avoid being arrested.This rule has been followed for many years in these countries.

  • Selling and consumption of pork and beef:




Pork and beef are commonly consumed in India.In certain parts of India,beef slaughter is banned since cows are considered sacred and are worshiped.Apart from India,Middle Eastern countries have banned the selling of pork since its not allowed to be consumed by Muslims.

  • Playing songs on the radio:

The Canadian government keeps a look out for radio stations as they are very strict about the songs that are played in the country.According to there rules,every 5th or 6th song should be from a Canadian singer or hefty fines would be levied on them.

  • Valentine’s day:

Valentine’s day is celebrated by couples all across the world.But certain countries condemn there celebrations,especially in Saudi Arabia where strict and vigilant laws have been set in order to restrict people to celebrate it.




  • Use of high heels:

High heels are considered as a style and fashion quotient across the world especially in the city of Paris and America.Greece on the other hand have banned the use of high heels in certain historic events since they believe it may lead to wear and tear of national treasures.

  • Chewing gums:

Chewing gums were completely banned in Singapore,but it was uplifted only for dental or any medical purpose.Singapore is known to be one of the cleanest countries to live in!To avoid the sticking of the gums by people in public places,the government had banned it completely.Import of these gums are also banned.




  • Being overweight:

Being overweight is considered to be illegal in Japan.The government has made sure to measure the waistlines of people who are aged between 45 to 75 annually.The reason is to avoid the citizens from ill effects of obesity related to cardiovascular problems and other health concerns that would lead to death.

  • Washing a car on a Sunday:

Washing a car is a routine thing to do in almost every country in the world.But the country of Switzerland has termed it illegal to wash it on any of the weekdays since the detergent would pollute the groundwater and thus the environment,hence a rule has been made that cars are to be washed only on a Sunday.

  • Feeding pigeons or any other bird:

St.Marks Square in Venice is considered as a historic monument.Birds are common sighted on the streets on St.Marks Square and feeding them was a culture practice for hundred’s of years,till the government decided to ban them as birds have posed a health concern for the general public and its citizens.
