Zaha Hadid Architects Unveils The Design For A “Smart City” Project Near Moscow

Zaha Hadid Architects is a world renowned British architectural and design firm based in London and was founded by Zaha Hadid.

A new smart city project has been unveiled in Moscow named”RUBLYOVO-ARKHANGELSKOYE” in order to cater to the needs of the large population of about 12 million inhabitants and growing.The city of Moscow is at a stage of expanding its cities to accommodate the growing population.

With a growth rate of over 30%,The city has been well designed to accommodate for its future growth and prevent any clogging of the city by providing new residents a sense of efficiency and an Eco-friendly environment.

The city would be spread across 4 million square meters of buildings consisting of high-rise skyscraper,shopping centers,medical facilities like hospitals,parks,wide roads and footpaths and Wi-fi in almost every street for better connectivity.

Metro or tram networks,educational facilities and entertainment districts are some of the planned projects plotted on a 450+ hectare plot for future developments.

Apart from Zaha Hadid Architects,two more consortiums were chosen for the smart city project namely Nikken Sekkei architect from Japan and Archea Associati from Italy with ABD architects.

The project that has been designed by Zaha Hadid Architects have embedded smart city technologies for the residents to live in leisure and comfort in a step by step phased development  to enhance residents interactions with each other,with nature and its eco-friendly environment.
